On the night of April 18, 2001 the Covington High School FFA held their annual Awards Banquet.  Several members and guest attended.  Among those guest were Holli Turner, the TN State Treasurer, Kim Newsome, the TN State President,  Mrs. Ann Johnson, West TN Advisor, Mrs. Flannigan, Brighton FFA Advisors and several others.  Several members received pins for their participation in CDE's, the Star Green Hand Award given to Brittany Brown, the Mary Jane Denis Scholastic Award was given to both Brittany Brown and Dale Smith with 4.0 G.P.A.s, the Star Chapter Farmer Award was given to Chris Harper.  Proficiency pins were given to Clint Walton, Jay Armstrong, Holli Turner, Clint Watkins, and Evelyn Jones.  The senior awards were given out by Ms Farlow, Mr. Turner, and Mr. Cole.  Clint Walton received the Good ol' Boy award for most reliable member; both Chris Brown and Clint Walton received the Most active member award; and Jay Armstrong received the Scholastic Achievement Award for with the highest G. P. A.  Then finally the 2001-2002 officers announced the new 2002-2003 officers; they were:  Jeremy Armstrong - Student Council Representative, Zack Garrison - Sentinel, Brittany Brown - Reporter, Rebecca Grear - Treasurer, Candy Rose - Secretary, Chris Harper - Vice President, and Evelyn Jones - President.
